The sky is blue during the day but becomes black at night.
During daylight, molecules in Earth’s atmosphere scatter blue light from the Sun more strongly than other visible colors, making the sky appear blue. At night, the Earth blocks direct sunlight from reaching our side of the atmosphere, so there is little light available to scatter and the sky appears black.
